Big Dave's Cheesesteaks opens new location outside of Atlanta

The cheesesteak shop is bringing its "taste of Philly" to the Queen City.

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks recently opened its first location outside of the Atlanta area. It's bringing its "taste of Philly" to the Queen City. 

According to an Instagram post, the new location held its grand opening on May 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The restaurant is at 8552 University City Blvd, near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks was founded by West Philadelphia native Derrick Hayes, who named the restaurant chain after his late father. Hayes opened the first location in a 700-square-foot Shell gas station in Dunwoody, Georgia.
