ATLANTA — The beaver is headed to Brunswick.
Buc-ee's, the Texas-based chain of travel centers with a beaver as a mascot, said it will break ground on its third Georgia location on Jan 29. The massive gas station and convenience store will be located off Interstate-95 about an hour south of Savannah and near vacation spots such as Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and Sea Island.
“Brunswick is a natural stop between our Florida and South Carolina locations on a stretch of interstate near the beautiful Georgia coastline,” Stan Beard, director of real estate for Buc-ee’s, said in an announcement.
At 74,000 square feet with 120 fueling positions, it will be Buc-ee’s biggest store in Georgia. Existing locations in Warner Robins and Calhoun are 53,000 square feet, according to previous reports from Atlanta Business Chronicle.
