ATLANTA — An Atlanta chef known for her exceptional biscuit creations has earned a spot on Food & Wine's 2024 Best New Chefs list. The award recognizes 13 rising stars in American cuisine pushing boundaries and redefining culinary innovation.

Erika Council, owner of Bomb Biscuit Co. in the Old Fourth Ward, is one of the chefs honored in this year’s class. Her restaurant, famous for its towering biscuit sandwiches and unique take on Southern comfort food, has become a local favorite.

In a profile with Food & Wine, Council stated that her culinary roots run deep, influenced by her grandmother, who opened Mama Dip’s Kitchen in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and a family tradition of community-centered cooking.

Food & Wine highlighted her ability to blend tradition with innovation, cementing her place among some of the most influential chefs in the country.
