Here's how much more Chick-fil-A costs at Atlanta airport versus its normal restaurant

We decided to find out how much more it costs to buy Chick-fil-A at the Atlanta airport than if you were to get it inside a regular restaurant location in the city.

ATLANTA — After rumors on social media last week that prices at Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A were more expensive in the drive-thru than the inside were disproved by 11Alive, we decided to explore the popular restaurant's menu prices even further.

While flying out of the Atlanta airport, a member of 11Alive snapped a picture of the menu while in line at Chick-fil-A in order to see the difference in what it costs for certain menu items at the airport versus how much they are inside one of its normal restaurant stores.

Let's compare

-Chick-fil-A Sandwich meal

  • Piedmont Road location in Atlanta: $8.85 (before tax)
  • Atlanta airport: $11.42

-12-Count Nugget meal

  • Piedmont Road location in Atlanta: $10.79
  • Atlanta airport: $13.72

-Grilled Chicken Sandwich meal

  • Piedmont Road location in Atlanta: $10.55
  • Atlanta airport: $13.33

-8-Count Grilled Nuggets entree

  • Piedmont Road location in Atlanta: $8.39
  • Atlanta airport: $9.72

Last week, a viral social media post claimed that Chick-fil-A charges customers more when they pay for food in the drive-thru rather than going inside and ordering at the counter.

11Alive looked into this claim by paying a visit to one of the Atlanta locations to see for ourselves but found out that a regular Chick-fil-A Sandwich cost $5.43 in the drive-thru and $5.43 inside the restaurant.
