UNITED KINGDOM, — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the hit show "Friends" with four limited-edition, themed donuts. Unfortunately for American fans, distribution is even more limited, with the treats available only in the United Kingdom from June 17 to July 21.
Krispy Kreme's decision to make the lineup available only across the pond has left many fans disappointed and confused, especially since the show itself is American.
Each donut is designed and named for an iconic moment in the show. The roster is:
- FRIENDS: An original glazed donut finished with chocolatey icing, sprinkles, and white chocolate
- WE WERE ON ON A COFFEE BREAK: An original glazed donut topped with caffè latte flavor icing, chocolate swirl, frosting and a white choc topper
- TRIFLE: A strawberry and custard-filled doughnut topped with chocolate curls and green sprinkles
- HOW YOU DOIN'?: Classic ring doughnut dipped in purple icing with mango & passionfruit flavor frosting
Krispy Kreme is even debuting a special box for the occasion! Customers will receive their dozen special donuts - three of each variety - in a purple box with a yellow frame designed after Monica's apartment door.
While these specific donuts may not be available on this side of the Atlantic, the U.S. has 31 locations in Georgia - and 377 across the country - where their typical treats are available in-store or for delivery.
