These Georgia Red Lobster locations are listed as 'temporarily closed' on the restaurant's website

ATLANTA — Red Lobster lovers were surprised to learn that some locations nationwide weren't open for business on Monday.

Dozens of locations, including three in Georgia, are listed on the restaurant chain's website as "temporarily closed" and it also shows up that way on Google.

The restaurant -- also known for its Cheddar Bay Biscuit -- left patrons chatting about the abrupt closures online.

This also comes after CNBC reported in April that the seafood chain was looking for a buyer as it looks to avoid filing for bankruptcy. People familiar with the matter told the news outlet that the company considered filing for Chapter 11 to help restructure its debt, but it also searched for a buyer in recent months.

As of now, the future of the company and the restaurant locations listed as "temporarily closed" are unclear. 11Alive reached out to Red Lobster about its recent woes Monday evening. Staffing impacts are also unclear at this time. We will update this story if we hear back.
