CONYERS, Ga. — Usher's new Dave's Hot Chicken in Conyers opens on Friday, but on Thursday night, the store had a soft launch featuring a drone show.
The franchise reached out on Friday morning with a video featuring highlights from the show, including a segment where the sky lit up, saying 'Let it Burn,' touting one of the R&B superstar's songs.
"I’m excited to open Atlanta’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken and look forward to everyone from my hometown trying it,” Usher said.
It's located at 447 Hwy 138 SE in Conyers, Georgia and plans to hold its grand opening on Friday.
“Once I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken and spoke with the founders of the brand, I knew I wanted to be involved with the company," Usher said.
11Alive's partner, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, previously reported that Usher is partnering with a franchise group headed by Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali. He's investing in several metro Atlanta Dave's Hot Chicken restaurants-- the first being in Conyers.
Dave's Hot Chicken is known for bringing the heat with bold hot chicken flavors, including "Reaper" and "Extra Hot." The chain has vegan options like "Dave's Not Chicken" cauliflower. And if you're looking for a sweet treat, it has a variety of loaded milkshakes.
