A Dublin, GA, woman won $10,000 in the Georgia Lottery's Georgia FIVE game on her 60th birthday.
“I played my birthday numbers,” said Denise Whipple, a retired medical surgery nurse. “After switching them around a couple of times, I finally got it right.
“Happy birthday to me,” said Whipple, who plans to use some of her winnings to make repairs on her home.
Whipple won the money in the Nov. 20 drawing.
Winning tickets also were purchased in Decatur (Nov. 11 and Nov. 12), Lithonia (Nov. 13), Baxley (Nov. 15), Stone Mountain (Nov. 25), Waynesboro (Nov. 26, two tickets), and Rome (Nov. 27, two tickets).
