ROSWELL, Ga. — A Georgia woman is celebrating her centennial birthday with a party at a Roswell assisted living facility.
Frankie Beaty's birthday is on Friday, August 2, and she will celebrate her party at noon at Magnolia Place of Roswell.
She was born in 1924 in Macon, according to the facility. They added that she moved to the facility in October 2023.
A news release from the facility stated, "Frankie has been a beacon of happiness for everyone she encounters. She moved to Magnolia Place on October 14, 2023, and instantly became the heart of our community."
Magnolia Place of Roswell highlighted Beaty's love story with her late husband, Butch. The two of them got married in 1945, just two weeks after he got back from World War II. He passed on July 15.
The two shared a love for dancing. They both became Jitterbug champions and also participated in elder square dancing.
"Every dance with Butch felt like magic," Frankie reminisced.
They have two children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Beaty added her secret to a long life is "choosing to be happy no matter what."
The facility added that she believes the TV was the "greatest technological invention."
"Frankie's spirit is the heartbeat of our community," said Kandie Romano, Sales Director of Magnolia Place of Roswell. "We are overjoyed to celebrate her 100th birthday and honor her incredible journey. She is a treasure to our community."
