DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia firefighter jumped back into action Wednesday after overcoming his battle with cancer.
DeKalb County firefighter Peter Le was diagnosed with cancer several months ago, according to DeKalb Fire Captain Jaeson Daniels.
Fire crews received a call Wednesday morning about a fire at a home along Alpha Drive near Decatur. Daniels said Le didn't hesitate to respond to the call on his first shift back.
"He’s thrilled to be back at the station with his colleagues. This morning, the bell rang, and he immediately jumped on the rig," DeKalb Fire wrote in a social media post.
Thankfully, Daniels said no one was hurt in the fire. Investigators believe the flames sparked due to the clothes dryer.
In the photos below, smoke was seen billowing from the home as Le and his fellow crew members responded.

"Le expresses his gratitude for the support he received from everyone," the fire department added in the post.
