Police officer plots to surprise girlfriend with proposal during traffic stop

She said yes, AND they're going to tie the knot on 10-4!

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — The last thing you want to see driving down the Atlanta highways are flashing blue lights in your rear view mirror, but one driver was more than happy to oblige - that's because she was in on a big secret!

The Gwinnett Sheriff's Office shared that the traffic stop was all part of an elaborate plan to help a brother in blue with the DeKalb County Police Department propose to his girlfriend.

The agency wrote that the driver plotted with Officer John Heart to make sure she and his girlfriend Alexis were pulled over by officers with the Lawrenceville Police Department, who also happened to be Heart's friends and were in on the secret.

When the driver was pulled over, that's when Heart got down on one knee to pop the question to Alexis!

"We're pleased to announce she said YES and wish the happy couple all the best as they plan their wedding and embark on married life," the sheriff's officer wrote on their Facebook page, congratulating the pair.
