ATLANTA — A touching moment from over the weekend when the CEO of Chase Consumer Bank visited Atlanta is making people smile online.
Chloe Woods is part of the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project. The group meets every weekend to prepare for a big summer debate at Harvard University.
The students met with the CEO of Chase Consumer Banking Thasunda Duckett on Saturday at the J. Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Duckett was there to give a motivational speech regarding financial planning and success, when Woods stepped up and delivered the sweet moment.
Video taken by Brandon Fleming, the CO and founder of The Harvard Diversity Project, and shared with 11Alive caught the exchange.
"(It's) so inspiring - I can't even express it to you," Woods said. "I think it's one thing be able to just come into this building every Saturday, and we're so grateful to be here, and to see all these black entrepreneurs doing so amazing," the tenth grader said. "But you're the CEO of Chase, like, that's my bank ... and it's just amazing to see that you look like me, and you're able to do that and have that impact. So thank you."
The two then embrace for a hug.
The video was share online, were it was seen by nearly 2.6 million people, who called the moment "beautiful."
