FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — As Cupid readies his bow for another Valentine's Day, Fulton County is gearing up for a heartwarming and free celebration of love.
This February 14, 2024, couples are invited to freely say "I Do" at the Fulton County Courthouse, where love will be the only currency accepted.
In a partnership that’s as harmonious as a well-tuned orchestra, the Probate Court, along with Superior and State Courts and the Clerk of Courts, is hosting free wedding ceremonies.
Chief Probate Judge Kenya Johnson, leading the charge alongside a team of Fulton County judges, will be conducting the love-filled festivities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in courtrooms 9G and 9J of the Fulton County Courthouse, nestled in the heart of Downtown Atlanta at 136 Pryor Street SW.
“We all know that Valentine’s Day is a special time for couples,” Johnson said. “It is through this partnership with the Chief Judges of Superior and State Courts that more Fulton County citizens will be able to have a free courthouse wedding ceremony experience.”
Joining the matrimonial merriment, Chief Judge Ural Glanville and Chief Judge Wes Tailor, accompanied by their associate judges, will perform complimentary wedding ceremonies in decorated courtrooms, complete with music and professional photography.
Couples eager to partake in this amorous affair must first obtain a marriage license from the Fulton County Probate Court. No reservations are necessary for the ceremonies, and each couple can bring up to 6 guests to witness their leap into marital bliss.
However, lovebirds flying in from beyond Fulton County’s borders will need to feather their nest with an $80 fee for the ceremony. For more information on marriage license requirements, flutter over to FultonProbateGa.org.
Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or a pragmatic lover, seize the opportunity to make this Valentine’s Day one to remember.
