COLUMBUS, Ga. — Few things are as precious in the holiday season as a baby's first Christmas, and that milestone only takes on heightened emotion when it's the first Christmas for the most vulnerable infants.
To mark the season, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Piedmont Columbus Regional recently welcomed Santa for a visit.
Santa stopped by to offer a tender moment with the Piedmont Columbus Regional NICU babies.
"Before the holly jolly fellow returned to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas, he visited the premature babies who will be having their first Christmas," the hospital said, passing along photos of Santa making the rounds.
