Families across metro Atlanta are getting ready for the holiday season – and many will be out looking for the perfect holiday tree.
There are a lot of options across the region to cut down a tree, pick a live tree and have it cut for you, or even buy a living tree you can plant.
Most Christmas tree farms open Friday after Thanksgiving and are open until Christmas Eve. Santa visits, hayrides and special events are normally scheduled on weekends throughout the holiday season.
It’s always a good idea to call tree farms or check out their individual Facebook and social media pages to confirm availability.
FULTON COUNTY
The farm specializes in fresh Fraser Fir Christmas trees and opens the day after Thanksgiving.

Hunters' Christmas Tree Farm opens the day after Thanksgiving and has been a holiday tradition for nearly 30 years. Leyland and Murray cypress trees are available to cut. Fresh cut Fraser firs and a variety of wreaths, garlands and tree stands are also available (along with free hot chocolate and cookies!)
Santa visits and pony rides are available on the weekend.

Randy's features over 250 trees for families to pick and choose. The farm also features a "saw tent" to trim down the tree, along with a netting machine. Workers can also help load the tree on top of cars for free.

COBB COUNTY
This family-owned choose and cut tree farm has been serving metro Atlanta for 37 years. It features a large selection of Murray Cypress and Carolina Sapphire trees and staff will shake and bail your tree free of charge. They also offer fresh-cut Fraser Firs from North Carolina.

Red Land has been selling Christmas trees since 1976. Helpers are on standby to help families chop down their own trees and shake out debris and loose foliage. They can net trees for transport and load them on top of cars; the farm also offers free wagon rides, a traditional hot fire pit and music.

Trees here are not cut until the day customers are ready to take them home. The farm specializes in Leyland Cypress but offers many other varieties, including precut Fraser Fir.
Each tree is mechanically shaken to remove dead needles. The farm is pesticide-free.
