MORROW, Ga. — A metro Atlanta beauty supply store has been buzzing on social media for its unbelievable deals at its grand opening on Thursday.
Empress Beauty, located at 1865 Mount Zion Road in Morrow, is celebrating its opening by offering 1-cent products, free hair bundles and more.
Empress Beauty first sent the internet into a frenzy after posting about the store's opening on Instagram on August 12. The post revealed that the store would soon be coming to Atlanta as the "number one destination” for hair and products.
The post also showed multiple large walls filled with wigs and bundles of all colors, long aisles of hair products, and a clothing department.
Keeping up the momentum, the store began posting various skits with popular content creators - and even a puppy. One Instagram user commented, “The dog got me, I’m on the way.”
However, none of the skits could have prepared customers for the post made just a few days ago. Empress Beauty posted to Instagram the Grand opening on August 22, announcing that the store would open at 8 a.m., and the first 300 people would receive a free set of three human hair bundles. The second 200 customers would receive free gifts.
The gift-giving did not stop there. The store also advertised slashed prices for hair products, such as B&B Pump It Up, ECO Style Gel, blow dryers and Virgin Human Bundles. The beauty store is enforcing a maximum of one item for some of the products.
With over 400 comments, new customers said they would wait at the door at the crack of dawn, while others are just now finding out days later, hoping to leave home with something.
Now that the grand opening has arrived, customers are posting videos of the line to Instagram and TikTok.
While many customers are still on their way to the store, many commented on the store's most recent post, saying, “I want this sale so bad, but I cannot wait in it this long” and “The line is 2 miles long!”
According to multiple users' Instagram stories, lines started wrapping around the beauty store as early as 2:30 a.m. Hours later, the line continued to grow, and law enforcement could be seen securing the perimeter of the building.
The modified prices will last just one more day until Friday.
