VILLA RICA -- One month ago, three Villa Rica police officers saved the life of a motorist, and earlier this week, their police chief and mayor honored them for their bravery.
On September 7th, a man crashed his car on Industrial Boulevard. His car burst into flames and he was incapacitated.
Corporal Meredith Ivey was the first to arrive and dash cam video shows her sprinting towards the burning car.
Officers Spencer Crawford and Micahiah Swain then arrived on the scene and the three of them worked as a team to free the man and pull him clear of the fiery vehicle.
They administered first aid until paramedics arrived.
For their courage, bravery and teamwork, they were recognized by their Chief, the Mayor and the Villa Rica City Council.
