11Alive's parent acquires 6 Texas TV stations

Once complete, Gannett will own or operate 46 TV stations across the nation.

(WXIA) -- Gannett, parent company of 11Alive and The ATL announced Wednesday that it is expanding its reach in Texas. The company is acquiring six television stations from Dallas, Texas-based London Broadcasting Company.

Gannett is acquiring The stations are: KXVA Abilene-Sweetwater (FOX/MNT), KBMT/KJAC Beaumont-Port Arthur (ABC/NBC/MNT), KIII Corpus Christi (ABC), KIDY San Angelo (FOX/MNT), KYTX Tyler (CBS/CW) and KCEN Waco-Bryan-College Station (NBC) -- all in Texas.

The $215 million cash deal is expected to close this summer. Once complete, Gannett will own or operate 46 TV stations across the nation.
