Black Friday 2024 in metro Atlanta: Marietta store shows hunt for deals still alive and well

11Alive crews were out at at the Black Friday Deals store in Marietta on Friday.

MARIETTA, Ga. — While it might seem the infamous scenes of shoppers tackling one another at a pre-dawn store opening are a thing of the past, the Black Friday spirit was alive and well in Marietta on Friday.

11Alive crews were at a Black Friday Deals store in Marietta, where an old-school Black Friday shopping rush was on.

One shopper spoke to 11Alive outside the discount store -- which operates year-round, with overstock merchandise coming in on Thursdays and then everything going for $8 on Friday. Whatever's left goes for even cheaper on Saturday, then cheaper on Sunday, and so on until the store closes to restock again on Thursday.

The man showed 11Alive a leaf blower he got for $8 on Friday.

"We done filled the trunk today, kids are gonna love Christmas this year," he said. "Some of the stuff, I don't even know what I got, the deal was so good I just grabbed it."
