ATLANTA — Atlanta flyers will have a new way to reach New England starting in May, courtesy of budget carrier Avelo Airlines.
The airline announced new routes to and from New Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday. They'll be available starting May 2, with searches of ticket availability indicating most round-trip bookings will come to less than $150.
According to the company, their new route makes them "the first and only airline offering nonstop service between ATL and Southern Connecticut."
The company added the route will be available four times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“We're excited to introduce Atlanta to Avelo’s low fares, travel-friendly convenience and industry-leading reliability,” Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said in a statement. “Getting to Southern Connecticut and everything the greater New England and New York regions have to offer will now be easier than ever. This exclusive nonstop service will also make enjoying Atlanta’s abundance of vibrant urban and outdoor experiences a fast and seamless journey for Connecticut visitors.”
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari added in a statement that the new route offers a "cost-effective option for our business and leisure travelers to explore the beauty and attractions of Atlanta and Southern Connecticut.”
Avelo began operations in April 2021 and serves 47 destinations in 23 states, according to the company.
