ATLANTA — In its latest strategic acquisition along the Southside Trail, Atlanta BeltLine Inc. acquired 13.7 acres next to Pittsburgh Yards.

The nonprofit paid $13.3 million for the land at 356 University Avenue, and financed the acquisition with a loan from SouthState Bank, according to a Friday press release. A subsidiary of the Annie E. Casey Foundation was the seller, according to reporting from the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

A specific plan for the site has yet to be determined. ABI will conduct a community engagement process to determine the best use for the land “in a manner that fosters sustainable and equitable economic development opportunities,” according to the release. ABI will issue a request for proposals to invite developers to submit potential plans for the site.
