A government agency is alerting the public to a recall involving 58,000 gas fire pits sold at Home Depot.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the fire pits have a flaw that may burn users as they attempt to turn off the propane tank.
The recall was announced on Wednesday and impacts products sold specifically at Home Depot stores nationwide and online from August of 2016 to November 2017.
According to the recall, these products - specifically referred to as Hampton Bay 50,000 BTU, 30-inch Cross Ridge Outdoor Gas Fire Pit Table Patio Heaters - were made in China by Zhejiang Yayi Metal Technology Company. They bear the model number G-FTB51057B and UPC 6944937601579 - both printed on the packaging.
So far, there have been only three reports of consumers receiving burns while turning off the propane on the fire pit.
