ATLANTA -- The $1.5 billion dollar Powerball jackpot has a winner but not in Georgia.
Winning tickets for the largest jackpot to date were sold in California, Tennessee and Florida. Two $1 million dollar tickets were sold right here in Georgia.
According to Georgia Lottery Commission Communications Director Tandi Reddick, the tickets were purchased in Atlanta and Douglas.
The Atlanta ticket was purchased at the Quik Mart on 48 Broad Street SW. The winner, Shaadi Edwards, claimed her prize on Thursday, lottery officials said.
Edwards told lottery officials that she realized she won after she saw the results on Twitter.
"It felt surreal," she said.
Edwards said she used ages and birthdays to select her winning combination. She hopes to purchase a home, pay off her grandparents' house, and do advocacy work.
The Douglas ticket was purchased at the Quick Stop at 1656 US Highway 221 N. (Click here to see where Powerball winning tickets were sold in Georgia)
In order to win $1 million, players must match every number but the Powerball.
The winning numbers in Wednesday's drawing were 8, 27, 34, 4, 19 and the Powerball was 10.
