ATLANTA — When you look back through the snapshots, you see a career that has made a tremendous mark and a person who has made a difference to everyone around him.
Chris Holcomb is a true professional who is passionate about serving the people in his home state and he's Georgia Bulldog through and through.
11Alive is thrilled to celebrate with Chris and his family as he is given the John Holliman Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award from his alma mater, the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism.
He grew up in Doraville and, in the early days working at WMAZ in Macon, he set a goal of coming back to work at home in Atlanta. It didn’t take long to achieve that goal.
For 27 years at 11Alive, Chris has been a constant force in helping keep people aware and working to keep people safe through the storms. He has covered every big weather event in Georgia over more than a quarter century.
UGA says the Lifetime Achievement Award honors sustained contributions to the profession throughout a career. As the recipient of the award, Chris will also be inducted into the Grady Fellowship.
