CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Fire investigators are working to figure out what caused a fire at a stable that killed two dozen horses.
According to officials with the Clayton County fire department, firefighters responded to the stable in the 1800 block of Noah's Ark Road around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday night.
Officials said 30 firefighters worked to put out the fire, but they said the stable, which was made from wood and concrete, was a total loss. A smaller barn sitting near by was also destroyed.
Officials said only 1 horse out of 24 survived. All the others died in the fire. No people were injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
