A Grande Favor: CHOA hopes pop singer will grant wish

Nurses say Amy lights up when she hears Ariana Grande!

ATLANTA — For the first time in weeks, Amy, a 14-year-old patient in the Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, gleamed a smile when nurses played one of her favorite songs by Ariana Grande.

Now, a video tweeted by the hospital’s social media page has already amassed more than 4,000 views and asks Grande to make a visit during her "Sweetener World Tour" stop in Atlanta on Saturday.

“Meet Amy, a 14-year-old #Arianator who has been in our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for more than 2 months,” the tweet shared on social media said. “She smiled for the first time in weeks when her nurses played one of her favorite songs. @ArianaGrande, let us know if you want to meet Amy when you’re in town this weekend.”

Amy has been in care for two months and has undergone a heart transplant. A representative at the hospital said Grande’s music brought happiness to Amy.

“Her family and nurses were overwhelmed with joy when they witnessed her response to Ariana’s song,” the representative said. “Amy’s morale has been low, and she has had trouble seeing the light in her journey. Isn’t it awesome how one song brought her so much joy? It was a really heartwarming experience for them.”

Because Amy is still in care at the hospital, she is unable to attend Grande’s concert on Saturday. So, the hospital hopes the message reaches the “7 Rings” singer.

“Ariana needs to know the impact that she can make on her fans. It is very inspirational how her music brightened Amy’s day, even when she has been feeling down,” the representative said. “Even though Amy will be in a hospital bed during the night of Ariana’s concert, she will be there in spirit supporting Ariana. Hopefully we can connect with Ariana’s team to set up a FaceTime or the chance for them to meet while she is in town!”

Ariana’s single “No Tears Left To Cry” debuted at #1 on iTunes in 88 countries worldwide and set the tone from her fourth full-length studio album "Sweetener".

The “Thank U, Next” popstar who has received two No. 1 songs from her latest album makes a stop at the State Farm Arena on June 8.
