DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office found and arrested two men earlier Wednesday wanted on charges of armed robbery.
Anthony Baggett, 17, and Shawn Darin Smith, 28, both from Decatur, were caught at an apartment complex off Glenwood Road.
According to authorities, Baggett had a warrant out for his arrest in connection to a May 30 incident. Investigators allege Baggett used a semi-automatic pistol to take $200 from a man named Derrick Henry, on Glenwood Road in Decatur.
Shawn Smith, the other man DeKalb police were searching for, also had warrants for armed robbery, as well as several other charges. That alleged incident - which authorities have not released details on - resulted in charges of False Imprisonment, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon for Smith.
Authorities said they found several weapons when they arrested the two. Baggett and Smith were taken to DeKalb County Jail immediately.
