ATLANTA — 2020 Presidential candidate Cory Booker is putting out the SOS to Atlanta to help bring home a furry friend of the campaign.
"I just landed in Atlanta. Really psyched to be back, but I'm really just putting a call out to whoever can help," Booker said.
The Democratic Senator from New Jersey said two of his staffers lost their dog, Gumbo, in southwest Atlanta near the Cascade and Fairburn Road areas.
"Gumbo is beautiful black and white, pitbull and boxer mix," Booker described. "I'm really hoping that folks can put out the word. We are really all caring about getting this dog back to a member of his family."
Booker asked for anyone who may have seen Gumbo to let them know, ASAP. They've even set up an email account for people to submit tips - FindGumbo@gmail.com. There's also a "generous reward," according to a flyer.
"It's really important to us as a family," Booker concluded.
Booker is in Atlanta ahead of a African American Leadership Council Summit hosted by the Democratic National Convention. Booker and fellow 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg will be speakers at the event, along with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Fair Fight founder Stacey Abrams.
