ATLANTA — If it felt like Atlanta was a little more crowded than years past - you're right.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Census Bureau data shows Metro Atlanta added more 75,000 residents - making the area the fourth-fastest growing metro area in the nation.
The population grew from nearly 5.8 million to 5.9 million people between July 2017 to July 2019. Dallas, Phoenix and Houston respectively were the top three metro areas for growth. Orlando rounded out the top five fastest-growing cities.
New York City, meanwhile, remains the largest metro area, with a population of nearly 20 million people.
