11Alive's Cheryl Preheim presents at Atlanta Jewish Film Festival

ATLANTA — (Editor's note: The video above is about the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival opening on Tuesday)

11Alive was back out in the community on Tuesday night as morning anchor Cheryl Preheim attended and presented at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.

The event shows dozens of films at five venues across metro Atlanta through March 7. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was also present, making it the first time a state governor has attended.

The governor described the new state law he just enacted that adds antisemitism to the hate crimes that are illegal in Georgia.

“This hate has no place in Georgia,” he said as the audience applauded.

Many of those who packed a reception to see the first film, shown Tuesday night at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center Crowds, spoke of how they were there to make a statement about the power of art and storytelling to unite and heal, especially now.
