Help the family of fallen Spalding County deputy with purchase of this drink

The drink costs $5 and she said $2 will go to McIntyre's family.

GRIFFIN, Ga. — One tea shop in Griffin is bringing the community together to give back to the family of a Spalding County deputy who lost his life in the line of duty.

All it takes to help - a purchase of a limited-edition drink.

Downtown Nutrition announced on Saturday that it will be donating a portion of each "Police Tea" sold to the family of Sgt. Marc McIntyre. The drink costs $5 and she said $2 will go to McIntyre's family.

On Friday, the beloved deputy died after being shot while responding to a domestic disturbance and welfare check call, according to the office.

"We have so many officers that come in here. I was just like, 'Oh my gosh, it could it really could have been anybody,'" Downtown Nutrition owner Danielle Stamps said.

Stamps said the shop has been overwhelmed with support.

"We have been blown away," Stamps said. "We have sold 83 teas so far. And that was in four hours."

Downtown Nutrition said they will continue selling Police Tea, as well as their sister businesses all over the state, until Jan. 13.
