ATLANTA — March is Child Life Month, which honors healthcare providers who help hospitalized children cope with their medical experiences. To mark the occasion, Dunkin' surprised some hardworking children's health professionals with a tasty and memorable treat.
The donut company surprised multiple Children's Healthcare of Atlanta campuses with coffee and doughnuts from their mobile sampler truck. As an added bonus, the coffee company gave 20 child life specialists at the Egleston campus a pair of tickets to an upcoming Savannah Bananas baseball game.
The specialists say it's nice to be recognized for their hard work.
"It's the best feeling in the entire world. We don't do it for the rewards [or] the appreciation; we do it for what we're able to give to our patients and families. So to be able to receive that recognition just feels amazing, and it makes it that much better to do the work that we do every day," one specialist said.
The Savannah Bananas will play three sold-out games this weekend at Coolray Field in Gwinnett County, beginning Friday.
