ATLANTA — A community gathered on Monday to celebrate the life of a 13-year-old boy who was tragically killed, along with his friend, at a birthday party at Atlanta's West End Apartments.
On Tuesday, July 2, just before 1 a.m., officers responded to the West End Apartments in the Oakland City neighborhood for multiple children shot.
Police said the shooting occurred as the children were on the stoop of their apartment complex at the intersection of Sparks and Peeples Street in the Oakland City neighborhood. The triple shooting claimed the lives of Lamon Freeman and Jakody Davis, both just 13 years old. Jakody’s little brother DJ was also injured.
Jakody's funeral was held at West Hunter Street Baptist Church. You can watch the full service in the YouTube below.
The reward for information leading to an arrest in the incident has now been increased to $50,000.
