BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. — A group of Georgia pilots is working to provide hurricane relief for communities impacted by Helene.

One of the pilots coordinating the efforts is Brad Hatcher. Hatcher and several other pilots, out of Butts County, Georgia, and surrounding areas, have been using their personal airplanes to fly supplies to areas devastated by Helene.

Over the last week, they have flown supplies into Asheville, North Carolina and south Georgia. In a social media post, Hatcher said he has flown more than 26 hours in four days -- coordinating eight airplanes to Asheville.

"It has been an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. There is still a lot of good people in this world, and I experienced that this week. I also experienced broken up communities that will slowly recover from the disaster," Hatcher wrote.

Another one of the pilots' stops was in Wrens, Georgia. The Wrens Police Department thanked the group on Facebook for bringing two airplanes with supplies to help the community.

"People are going to great lengths to take care of everyone. Thanks to everyone," the police department wrote.

The group is still working to fill up more trailers, which will be sent to South Georgia at the end of the week.

"One thing that was told to us for when the power comes back on in these towns that people will need is cleaning supplies," Hatcher added.

If you would like to donate to the pilots' hurricane relief efforts, you can send supplies to Hatcher's hangar at 155P Woody RD Jackson, Georgia 30233.

Big Peach Car Wash, which has several locations across Georgia, including in Forsyth, Jackson, Macon, Conyers, Griffin and Bremen, is also partnering to collect non-perishable food items.
