MARIETTA, Ga. — The Georgia Symphony Orchestra has added two sensory-friendly concerts to its season line-up in an effort to make its shows more accessible to people with sensory sensitivities.

The concerts allow audience members to fully experience orchestral music without the constraints of a standard performance. The special shows include limited crowd sizes, quiet rooms, and even an instrument "petting zoo," where attendees can touch and interact with the instruments before and after performances.

People of any age or ability are welcome to attend, according to a release. During the 50-minute program, audience members are free to move about, dance, speak, sing, or vocalize.

GSO has two shows planned for its season. The soonest one will be Symphonic Superheroes, held on Saturday, November 9, at Wheeler High School in East Cobb. The next one is Peter and The Wolf, held on April 19, 2025, at the same location.
