ATLANTA — A disaster relief organization is hosting a distribution event for residents impacted by a massive fire that ripped through an Atlanta apartment complex.
Flames broke out at The Reserve at LaVista Walk apartments on the night of Nov. 10. Authorities said the fire was likely caused by two people setting off fireworks; they were later arrested. Dozens of residents lost all of their belongings in the blaze.
In the wake of the tragedy, Birmingham-based nonprofit Hatching Hope is coming to Atlanta to provide new jackets, hygiene products, clean-up supplies and other essential relief necessities for those affected.

"We are absolutely heartbroken over this tragic event that has left hundreds of families displaced right at Thanksgiving. Next week, we are hoping to bring a little bit of joy and comfort during such a dark time," Jessica Trahan, with Hatching Hope, said.
