15-year-old shot to death at apartment complex in Griffin, police say

Officers attempted to save the boy's life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

GRIFFIN, Ga. — A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday at an apartment complex in Griffin, police said.

Police were called out to 1100 West College Extension, the location of Ava Park Apartments, for a person shot call. When they got there, they said they found the teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted to save the boy's life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name is not being released yet.

It's unsure if police have a suspect in custody at this time. Police said anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call Griffin Police Department at 770-229-6452 or to email Investigator Carnegie at tcarnegie@cityofgriffin.com

It was nearly a month ago that a 14-year-old boy was killed in a shooting outside of a Griffin High School football game. A 17-year-old was suspected was arrested and charged with his murder.
