ATLANTA — Atlanta Police have identified a 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed Saturday night in Atlanta's Peoplestown neighborhood.

Officers said they responded to the scene on Liman Avenue at 11 p.m.

There, they found Marcellius Satrone Stokes injured with a gunshot wound and transported him to the hospital. Unfortunately, police said the boy died from his injuries despite lifesaving attempts.

Sunday morning, police said they returned to the home where the shooting took place and arrested the suspect, Bakari Stokes-Martin, "without incident." Stokes-Martin is charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the possession of a felony.

Police say the victim and suspect are related, but there is no word on a motive at this time.
