DALTON, Ga. -- Dalton Police have made two arrests and are seeking a third suspect in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man.
The victim, Abel Carmona, was found at around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Parkview Apartments in the 200 block of North Easterling Street. Neighbors called 911 after hearing gunshots.
Dalton Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said Carmona was hit in the chest. He was transported to Hamilton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined Carmona and two friends were at the apartment complex to buy marijuana from three suspects -- 16-year-old Endy Becerra, 17-year-old Tywon Henderson and 20-year-old Marquis Tanner. Something went wrong during the drug deal and one of the suspects fatally shot Carmona.
Becerra and Tanner were arrested Thursday. Police are still looking for Henderson.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Dalton Police at 706-278-9085.
