FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Two men are behind bars after allegedly robbing several stores across two counties, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
On Jan. 4, Fayette County deputies responded to the QuikTrip on Hwy. 85 and learned that the store clerk had been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had taken a small amount of money from the cash register.
Upon investigation, authorities discovered a pattern of criminal activity that involved two men conducting armed robberies targeting various establishments, including convenience stores and gas stations between Fayette and Clayton County.
Search warrants were obtained in both counties and police located both suspects at their homes on Feb. 2. An 18 and 19-year-old, both of Jonesboro, were arrested in connection to the string of armed robberies.
Police say the suspects have been linked to at least seven robberies across the two counties.
Both suspects are facing several charges, including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
