DECATUR, Ga. — A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a 16-year-old who was breaking into a vehicle owned by the man, DeKalb County Police said.
Officers responded to a neighborhood in Decatur on Glen Hollow Lane on Dec. 13 after they got a call about a person shot. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy dead in the parking lot.
The investigation from detectives showed that the 16-year-old was breaking into 21-year-old Josiah Lester's car. That's when police said Lester pulled out a gun and shot the teen to death. He then ran from the scene but has since been taken into custody.
Lester faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault. He was booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
