69-year-old man shot and killed by 71-year-old in DeKalb County, police say

The suspect stayed at the scene and was arrested for murder, police said.

DECATUR, Ga. — A dispute led to a shooting that killed a 69-year-old man in Decatur on Thursday evening, according to DeKalb County Police.

Officers were called out to the 2800 block of Panthersville Road in Decatur around 7:15 p.m. for a call of a person shot. When they got there, police said that they found the man lying on the walkway with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the man was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The suspect, 71-year-old Larry Terry, stayed at the scene and was arrested for murder and booked into the DeKalb County Jail, police say.

Police said their investigation revealed that the two men and other witnesses had gotten into both a verbal and physical altercation before Terry allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the 69-year-old man.
