CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Cherokee County deputies arrested a 24-year-old driver following a fatal hit-and-run involving an Amazon delivery truck Tuesday evening, according to the sheriff's department.
The incident, reported around 6:30 p.m., happened on Cumming Highway near Jordan Lane.
When deputies arrived, Sandra Fitts, 79, of Canton, was found dead after being hit by a vehicle. After reviewing evidence, deputies said an Amazon delivery truck might have been involved. While responding to the scene, a deputy saw a truck matching that description turn onto Bishop Drive and called for additional officers to search the area.

Best is currently in custody without bond, deputies said.
