Police: One person was shot, wounded in College Park

According to the police chief, one person was shot and wounded early Saturday.

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — One person is recovering after being shot and wounded in an early Saturday morning shooting, College Park Police Chief Ferman Williford confirmed.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Roosevelt Highway and Hospitality Way. Williford told 11Alive News in a phone call shortly after 8 a.m. that the injuries were not life-threatening. 

Williford later said that the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but did not have additional information regarding the victim or any information regarding a suspect or suspects in the incident.

Police are still investigating the shooting and haven't provided any details on a possible motive for the crime.
