ATLANTA — A 55-year-old man was shot and killed on Sunday night near Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta, police said.
It is believed to have been the result of a domestic incident, the Atlanta Police Department said.
An APD statement said officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to a residential area on Centra Villa Dr. SW and found the 55-year-old with a gunshot wound.
"The male was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel," the statement said. "Investigators responded to the location to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary information suggests the victim was engaged in a dispute with the suspect prior to the shooting, and that the incident is domestic in nature."
No further details were available Monday morning. Police are continuing to investigate exactly what happened.
