ATLANTA — A man who was found shot and killed late Tuesday night in Atlanta's Carey Park neighborhood has since been identified.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said the victim Deon Green. According to the examiner's office, Green was an employee of the contractor who transports decedents to the county medical examiner's office, and he was on call when he was shot. However, he was not on an active scene at the time of the shooting.
The case stems from when the Atlanta Police Department responded to a location on Etheridge Drive around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday in reference to a person shot.
When they arrived, they found an unresponsive male with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
APD said homicide investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened.
