Atlanta Police seeking out person of interest in June homicide case

A 31-year-old man was shot and killed at a location on Peyton Place in June. APD released security video of a person of interest in that case.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are seeking a person of interest in a June homicide case that happened on the Westside.

APD put out security video on Tuesday that appears to be from inside a gas station mart, showing a younger man in a grey hoodie, dark jeans and sneakers. A $2,000 reward is available in this case.

According to the department, the man is a person of interest in the case of a 31-year-old's shooting death at a location Peyton Place on June 29.

In that instance, police responded a little after 3 a.m. to the location in the Harland Terrace neighborhood and found the victim with "apparent gunshot wounds." He was pronounced deceased by medical personnel on scene.

"Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department's Homicide Unit are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person of interest seen here," APD said in a release Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the individual is asked to contact APD Detective J. York at 404-546-4235 or call Crimestoppers to submit an anonymous tip at 404-577-TIPS.

Atlanta Police did not identify the 31-year-old victim in the June homicide. The circumstances around the shooting were not detailed.
