DECATUR, Ga. — A jury has convicted an Atlanta man for shooting and killing another man outside a rooming house, according to a press release from the DeKalb County District Attorney's office.

Sincere Rush, 22, was found guilty on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charges stem from the Nov. 28, 2022, death of Marcus Bradford, 51.

Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3300 block of Clifton Church Road. They found Bradford on the ground in the carport, shot in the torso. Rush was also at the scene.

The homeowner does not live on the property but rents out the five bedrooms. Bradford's girlfriend was one of the tenants. She told officers she and Bradford had been eating pizza in a car when Rush accosted them. Bradford got out of the car to explain to Rush that they weren't being loud, and Rush shot him.

Rush called 911, claiming Bradford had been aggressive and the shooting was self-defense. Surveillance audio and video contradict his story, though.

Rush will be sentenced at a July 10 hearing.
