ATLANTA — Atlanta Police responded early Monday morning to a gunshot victim in the Mechanicsville neighborhood, the department said.
According to an APD statement, officers responded a little after midnight to a location on Cooper Street. They located a 49-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg.
"The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Due to the victim’s medical condition, he was unable to provide responding officers with any suspect information or details on how he sustained his injury," the statement said. "Atlanta Police investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident."
