Atlanta police searching for elevator armed robbery suspect

Police said the suspect waited until everyone else was off the elevator and then pulled a knife on his victim.

ATLANTA -- Police are looking for help finding a downtown Atlanta armed robbery who struck on Aug. 15.

Investigators said it happened in an elevator at 75 Marietta St., NW at about 8 a.m. The victim said that, at first, she was on the elevator with two people. When one person got off, the second person pulled a knife and demanded her cell phone.

She complied with the demand. The suspect took the elevator back to the lower level and left the building. The victim was not injured in the incident.

Police said the suspect was described as a black man with a dark complexion who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a dark shirt, Vans-style shoes, a bright pink backpack and salmon-colored pants.
